CD ROM Recovery

CD or Compact Disk is the standard medium for storing all kinds of digital data in machine readable from. It is the disc of polycarbonate plastic, with a thin layer of aluminum to make a reflective surface. These digital data types include Audio, Video, Images and Text files. These data are accessible with a laser based reader. CDs are more accurate and faster than magnetic tape for data storage. CD use random access method means you can access data directly from the specified track and sector. The data on the CD surface is written in the binary form and system can directly read it.

These are the most commonly and widely used removable storage media because it has more storage capacity then magnetic tape drives and floppy drives. Many people use them for storing music file of both audio and video types and some other use them for storing their data or text files. Both of them may use it for taking back up of their valuable data.

Though CDs are faster and accurate type of storage media but these are more prone to failure. The surface of these disks is very sensitive and can be damaged due to several reasons. This type of damage includes scratches on one side of the disk, warping, or something that has damaged the plastic disk. This type of corruption means the dye on the readable surface of the disk has failed or the pits are created on it and the drive is incapable to represent the binary bits written on the disk surface.

Any of these reasons can cause CD corruption and may cause data loss. It is very critical situation for you when you lost all of your data from your system and when you try to access them from the back up and you find inaccessible it also. In such conditions, you need to recover your data written on your CD. It’s not a big deal; you can recover these lost data from your CD very easily with the help of CD Data Recovery Software.
CD Data Recovery software are used for recovering the data from corrupted CDs. These software are very easy to use and fast processing tools. You can use these software by simply installing on your computer. You can recover data from your CD by following these simple steps:

1. Install the CD recovery software on your computer and insert the disk on your CD drive.
2. Select the logical drive on which your CD drive is installed and select scan option.
3. After successfully completing the scanning process, it will display the files written on your CD.
4. You can Save these files on the specified location and can also drag them where you want to store them.

By using these four simple steps, you can recover your lost data from CD either it is music file or it is the back up of your data.

Stellar Phoenix CDRom Data Recovery is the wonderful software of this category. It is an easy to use and read only CD data recovery software. You can recover data from CD, CD R and CD RW with the help of this software. This software supports Joliet and ISO9660 file system. You can recover CD with this software on three major operating systems- Windows, UNIX and Linux.

Can’t Detect SATA? How to Recover Data from It?

SATA or Serial Advanced Technology Attachment is a computer bus basically designed for transferring data between computer system and storage devices (such as hard drives and optical drives). SATA is most commonly used in Seagate hard drives.

SATA was designed as a successor to the legacy ATA (Advanced Technology Attachment) standard, and is expected to eventually replace the older technology (PATA or Parallel ATA). SATA adapters and devices communicate over a high speed serial cable.
The main benefits of SATA are faster data transfer, less power consumption, better performance, ability to add or remove devices while operating, more reliable operation with tighter data integrity check then its older version and thinner cables that let air cooling work more efficiently.

Though SATA hard drives are more reliable and efficient then PATA hard drives, but these may also create problems. Sometimes when you start your computer, you may find an error message on your computer’s screen- “Can’t detect SATA” and your computer can’t boot. In such conditions your system can’t detect your hard drive and can’t read the operating system from your hard drive.

This problem may occur due to two reasons- Hardware and software. Hardware reasons include bad jumper setting, hard drive controller failure, and hard drive internal physical problems like head crash or motor stop.

Software reasons include operating system corruption, sudden catastrophic failure and other hard disk driver failure. Any of these failures, no matter what is the type, can make the hard drive inaccessible and may cause data loss.

Software reasons are the most commonly happening things that cause data loss. These are the logical error that can cause a big data loss. In such circumstances you should always back up your data. But in case you didn’t back up your data and data loss is occurred, you need data recovery.

In case of software reason of data loss, you can recover your data with the help of Data Recovery Software. This software is available in the market with a wide range of choice for the user. You can purchase any suitable software and can recover data from your inaccessible hard drive. You should always purchase software according to the operating system and the file system of your computer and type of data loss.
Before purchasing a software, you should make sure that the particular software you are going to purchase will support your operating system and file system or not, or this software can recover your data in your case.

How data loss occurs from VBR

A VBR (Volume Boot Record is a type of boot sector, stored in a disk volume on a hard drive. it is also known as a partition boot sector or a volume boot sector. It has the code for booting programs (generally but not essentially, operating systems) stored in other parts of the volume. On hard drive, it is the first sector of an individual partition on the device, with the first sector of the entire device instead being a MBR.

Some dual boot systems, such as Ntldr.exe, take copies of the bootstrap code that individual operating systems install into a single partition’s VBR. It store them in disc files, loading the relevant VBR content from file after the boot loader has asked the user which operating system to bootstrap.

In certain file system formats, in addition to bootstrap code, the VBR contains a BIOS parameter block that specifies the location and layout of the principal on-disc data structures for the file system.

The VBR resembles the MBR in that it contains two elements:
1. Hard disk drive parameter block: the hard disk drive BPB contains specified information about the location and layout of the principal on-disc data structures for the file systems, e.g., about the volume, its size, the number of hard disk drive sectors it uses, the size of the clusters, and the volume label name.

2. Volume boot code: the program or volume boot code is either directly invoked by the machine’s System ROM BIOS or indirectly by the MBR or boot manager (called chain loading). This begins the process of loading the operating system. For DOS and Windows 9x & Millennium file systems, this is the IO.SYS file.

VBR is the most important part of any hard drive. It helps user in executing any program stored on the particular volume of a hard drive. The VBR of the FAT file system is different from the NTFS’ but its BPB is same.

Sometimes when we start our system, we see some error messages like “Non System Disk” or “Disk Error….”. After we fail to load from it and also fail from a floppy boot attempt, the partition becomes unbootable. This situation usually occurs due to the Volume Boot Record corruption. In these circumstances, the particular disk partition become inaccessible and it may lead data loss and you need partition repairing and data recovery to recover your lost data. Microsoft provides the patch of this problem. You can repair your VBR with inbuilt system utility called Fixed Disk Editor by follwing these steps: -

1. Copy the data from a hard drice with the identical OS. There are two approaches for getting the data back.
2. First method is to install the second disk in the computer, restart Micro-Scope, and copy the sectors from healthy to affected hard drive.
3. Second method is to copy the sector to the other storage media and then transfer it to the drive being reconstructed.
4. In either case, the volume boot record is placed at Cylinder 0, Head 1, and Sector 1 on the healthy drive. Copy this data to the same location on the damaged drive. Exit the Fixed Disk Editor.

In this way, by following this method, you can repair or rebuild your VBR, but if you fail to do this, your drive volumes can’t be accessed. These situations may casue loss of all the data stored on the particualr volume or drive partition. In such conditions, to restore your lost data, data recovery software is required.

Data Recovery software will help you in recovering your data. The Data Recovery Software will recover the data from your damaged hard drive and save it to another storage media. You need to install data recoverry software on a healthy system and attach you damaged drive with this system. With this software, you can scan your drive and can restore the data on another hard drive. in case of VBR, you need to use Windows Data Recovery Software.

Booming Industry of Data Recovery

Today computer has become an important part of life for every individual. It has all types of users ranging from general home users to industry professionals. Everyone use computer for storing their important data as it is a stable medium for storing data.

Though computers are very faithful medium of storage, but there is no guarantee that your data is hundred percent secure. Data may loss in computers also due to several reasons including hardware failure, logical error and operating system corruption. These all conditions may lead data loss in computers and you may loss your important data from your dependable storage system.

The role of data recovery industry starts from here to recovery your lost data. It is a very booming industry that provides all type of solutions related to data recovery. There are two sub categories of Data Recovery industry. These are: -

1. Data Recovery Services: - Under this sub category, the industry provide the solutions of data recovery for the physical damaged storage media due to hardware malfunction. The data recovery industry provide the facility of high technical, expert and experienced data recovery professional to recover your lost data.

The internal parts of the drive like platter are very sensitive and can not be recovered in open environment. The industry also provides the facility of dust resistant labs to repair the high sensitive parts of the drive. These labs are known as Clean Rooms.

2. Data Recovery Software: - if your data is lost due to hardware problem, then data recovery service is usable. But when your data is lost due to logical error or operating system corruption, then Data Recovery Software is used. These are the general data recovery utilities that scan the entire drive from which the data is lost and help user to restore them.

The repairing task of the storage media can’t be performed by the general user, but Data Recovery Software can be used by general user. User can use these software without any high technical knowledge.

These are the two methods of recovering data from damaged hard drive or other storage media. The Data Recovery industry provides the Data Recovery solutions for each of the operating system including Window, UNIX, Linux, Macintosh and Novell along with all file systems supported by these operating systems including FAT16, FAT32, NTFS, UFS, VFS, VxFS, Ext2, Ext3, HFS, and HFS+. You can recover data from more than 300 file formats.

Can you recover data from lost MBR ?

The MBR or Master Boot Record is the name of the first addressable sector of the hard drive in the context of Intel Partitioning. The size of MBR is 512 bytes. It contains the partition table on the hard drive in FAT16 and FAT32 File System. It also contains a routing boot whose goal is to load the operating system or boot loader present on the active partition of the drive. The MBR is used for following purposes: -

1. Holding the primary partition table of the hard drive.
2. holding Bootstrapping OS, after the BIOS of the Computer passes execution to machine code instructions contained with MBR.
3. for uniquely identifying individual disk media, with a 16 or 32-bit disk signature, depending on the file system used.

MBR is the important part of your computer that tells the operating system what to boot and from where to boot. It loads the operating system when the system starts. Sometimes when you start your computer, it display some error messages like Boot Failure: System Halted or Operating System Not Found and your system stop booting with a blue Intel screen.
These error occurs when your boot record or MBR gets corrupted and your system can’t boot. Boot record may corrupt due to a number of reasons like improper shut down and virus attack (like trojan boot sector infactor). In such conditions, you can’t access the hard drive of your system and your data may loss. You can repair your MBR with inbuilt system utility called Fixed Disk Editor by follwing these steps: -

1. By using the Fixed Disk Editor, locate and read the first addressable sector of the drive. It is the location of your corrupted boot record.
2. It provide two options, M for modifying the MBR and 0 for rebuilding the MBR. Select the proper option and press ESC key.
3. It will ask you to press W to write and Y to confirm the selection.
4. Close the Fixed Disk Editor and choose the Rebuild Boot Record menu and press Y to confirm the selection.
5. it will rebuild your MBR and now it is corruption free.

In this way you may repair or rebuild your MBR, but if you are unable to do this, your system won’t boot. In such conditions, to rebuild the MBR you need to repartion the disk and it may cause data loss. it is the biggest data loss because your entire hard drive is inaccessible and you lost all of the data stored on it. In such conditions, to recover your lost data, data recovery software is required.

Data Recovery software will help you in recovering your data. The Data Recovery Software will recover the data from your corrupted hard drive and save it to another storage media. You need to install data recovery software on a healthy system and attach you damaged drive with this system. With this software, you can scan your drive and can restore the data on another hard drive. in case of MBR, you need to use Windows Data Recovery Software.

Data Wipe

Hard Drive is a non-volatile storage medium. It stores data permanently. User simply can’t delete data from hard drive permanently. When user deletes a file or directory, it moves in the recycle bin. When you empty the recycle bin, you think that data is deleted forever, but actually data doesn’t delete. Only the name of the files is removes from the index of the disk and data still remain physically on the disk. These data can be recovered with the help of Data Recovery software.

Sometimes you need for a new system for high speed or new hard drive for more storage capacity. In such conditions, if you sell your computer without deleting the existing data on your drive, it may leak your confidential information. In order to keep your information private, permanent data deletion is required. This process is generally required in the computers used in Banks, Army services, and for government records. When these old computers are sold without completely deleting the data, may be very dangerous.

In such conditions, to delete the data permanently, data wiping is required. Data wiping is the process of deleting the data with the help of software. This software is called data wipe. There are many kinds of data wiping software are available in the market. Generally when you delete the data with the combination of Shift + Del key or by emptying the recycle bin, it can be recovered with Data Recovery Software. But there is a drawback of the data recovery software. It can’t recover data if it is being overwritten. This software uses the overwriting technique, so it can’t be recovered with the help of data recovery software.

The data on the surface of the hard drive is stored in the binary form i.e. 0 and 1. This software first write all the data by 1 and then by 0. It repeats the same process for many times. The final overwriting process involves the random distribution of the ones and zeroes on the entire disk. This completely deletes all system files, including administrator data, system registry traces, and Windows logs. This makes the original data on the media unrecoverable. Some data-wiping applications also feature low level format options which could completely sterilize the disk.
Stellar Wipe is such kind of software. It is very powerful and effective data wiping software. You can erase selected files, folders or entire drive with the help of this software. You can also erase internet activities like history, favorites, cookies and temporary files with the help of this software.

Rules to follow for data recovery

Data loss could throw your entire business to risk if you have not created an efficient and proper backup of your data. Business or personal data stored on your computer is very often lost due to big or small disasters. There are many reasons that are responsible for data loss including power surges or outages, computer crashes, spy ware, virus developed to wipe the whole hard drive, natural disaster such as floods and tsunamis. What you need to do is be prepared to face these worst situation all the time and think of data recovery systems.
In the situation of any problem and potential data loss, here are some basic rules for every individual to follow: -
1. If you suspect that data loss is occurred, just plug out your system. Never shut down the system properly after data loss occurred; because it may cause more damaged of your data and can make it irrecoverable.
2. Don’t try and copy any files from or to your hard drive. It may overwrite the deleted data and may cause permanent data loss.
3. Never connect or surf the Internet until the lost data has been recovered.
4. Try and free space on affected hard drive by emptying the recycle bin and browser the cache.
5. If data is lost due to the hard drive crash, never try to open it yourself.
6. If you have backup of your data, then attach your system with other healthy system and use it for recovery.
7. Call a data recovery expert. In a disaster do not apply any data recovery by yourself. Tell the expert about the important files required to recover.
8. Once the files have been recovered, check them and take a backup of these files on CD, Pen drive or other storage media.
These are some basic rules to follow after data loss placed. By following these rules, you can recover your data in general data loss and can prevent further damage of your data. If you failed to recover data using these rules, then you can use data recovery systems.
Data recovery systems are intended by experts. These systems can recover and restore your lost data in most of cases. There are two options for that- Data Recovery Software and Data Recovery Professional Service. First of all make sure that what is the reason of data loss either it is software or hardware failure.
If your data is lost due to software reasons like virus attack, accidental deletion or operating system corruption, then just purchase data recovery software and use it for recovering your data. But the reason of data loss is hardware such as hardware failure, hard drive crash or natural disaster, then search for a data recovery service. They have proper environment and accessories to repair you crashed drive.

Data Recovery Help- Need of Every Individual

In computing, data is information that has been translated into a form that is more suitable to move and process. Relative to the computers and transmission media, data is the information converted into the binary form. It may contain numbers, words, and images.

If these precious and important data is loss due to any of the reason, the event is called as data loss. Data loss refers to the unexpected loss of data. Data loss must be illustrious from unavailability of the data. There are three main possible reasons of data loss: -

1. Data loss may occur due to any problem in the hardware components of the computer system. This is the hardware reason of data loss. Hardware failure may occur in the form of hard drive crash, motor stop, head crash; operating system doesn’t detect the hard drive or any other physical failure in the system.

2. Data loss may occur due to the logical or software error. These errors may occur in the form of file corruption and may lead inaccessible hard drive. Your software may corrupt due to any virus or spam attack on your computer.

3. Data loss also may cause due to the system software or operating system failure. Operating system is the system software that controls the hardware resources and allows the user to make the operable with application software.

If due to any of the above reason data is lost then backup and recovery options are developed to recover and restore these lost data. Backup is the process of making a copy of data on any other removable storage media before data loss. If any data loss occurs, you may use this copy of data to recover them.

Though data recovery is the process of recovery, repair or restore the data after data loss occurred. There are two possible methods of data recovery.

1. Hardware Data Recovery: - if the data loss occurred due to the hardware failure and any physical part of the computer get damaged. In this case hardware data recovery process is used. This is also called as data recovery service. This is the process of repairing the physically damaged parts of hard drive and access the data by attaching it with other healthy computer system. General user can not implement this process, because high technical knowledge and rich technical lab (known as Clean Room) is required for this.

2. Software data recovery: - if the data loss is occurred due to the virus attack, file corruption or operating system corruption, then the data may recover with the help of software data recovery. In this, you can recovery, repair and restore your data logically. There are numerous software available for data recovery according to the operating system and file system used by the user. This is the simplest method of data recovery; in this method you can recover data by yourself without any high technical knowledge.

You may use any of the above method and recovery your lost data without any problem. It is possible only with the advance in the data recovery technology. So if you loss your data then don’t take it serious and recover your data with easy and advance data recovery techniques.

Partition recovery from FAT & NTFS file System

In windows based systems, to store data effectively, we divide our hard drive into multiple partitions. It maximizes the storage space and helps us to prevent data loss events in case of operating system crash. Creating multiple partitions offers easy installation of the OS to the primary partition and we can save data on other partitions. The advantages of making multiple partitions proves helpful when the disaster strike; in such situation we can format the OS where the OS is stored without affecting data saved on other partitions.

But sometimes it happens that any particular partition of the drive disappears or become inaccessible. This situation occurs due to the partition corruption or deletion. There are several reasons that are responsible for this situation. Some most common reasons are: -
1. This situation may occur due to the firmware corruption. Firmware is the code that controls the hard drive accessing activities and its configuration. It is embedded in the physical hard drive.
In the event of such occurrence, the computer will prevent you from accessing any data from hard drive partitions. In such conditions, you may loss your precious data.
2. The situation of partition deletion or inaccessible data may occur due to the virus attack on your system. Virus may delete or corrupt your logical partition and may result in inaccessible logical drives.
3. Hard drive partitions may be deleted accidentally by the user. It is also a big reason of hard drive partition deletion. In such conditions, the data that particular partition contains may delete.

These are the most common events of occurrence of data loss. Any particular file and folder deletion may not be a serious problem but the deletion of the entire partition of the hard drive is really a very serious constraint. In such cases you need for data recovery software for recovering and restoring your lost partition.

Data recovery software is the software that provides partition recovery as well, for getting back your lost data. Actually when the partition is deleted to become inaccessible, in general, only it partition table entry is deleted from the table; and it become inaccessible, it still remains on the disk until it is overwritten. The recovery software locate these lost file systems and recreate the partition table.

Stellar Phoenix Windows data recovery Software is such type of software that helps you to get your lost partition and data back. This is non destructive and read only data recovery software. It scans the specified logical or physical drive and displays the files in a tree structure. You can select required files from here and can save them to the original location or can specify the different location.

Reasons of Hard Drive Controller Failure and Data Recovery

When you are working on you computer and get an error message- 1782 Disk Controller failure and it gives you the option to go into the boot or BIOS. When you try to boot it, it fails and displays just a black screen. When you boot it with bootable CD and try install the Operating system, it allows you to install but when you restart the system, it display some other error messages and fails. It may be a strange problem for you and may put you in trouble.

This problem most commonly happens because of the disk controller failure. Disk controller is a circuit that allows your computer to communicate with hard drive. Today, hard drives contain inbuilt disk controllers. For instance, hard drive called “SCSI drive” has in-built SCSI drive controllers.

Hard drive controller may fail due to numerous reasons. Some to these common reasons are as follows: -

1. Improper setting of the adapter in slab
2. Incomplete installation of hard drive
3. Unintentional or accidental deletion due to human error
4. Improper connection of hard drive with system
5. Bad sector in mother board
6. Partitioning distortion
7. Confliction of IRQ with other drives

This is the general hard drive failure and cause due to any of the above reasons. It may create many problems such as fail disk at boot time; prevent to access the hard drive, preventing the drive from booting and making the detection of the drive impossible in the BIOS setup program.
Whatever the effect, finally it makes the data inaccessible for you from your hard drive and result in the hard drive failure. The hard drive failure will cause data loss. In this way you loss your precious data from your hard drive and you need for data recovery to recover these lost data.

In such conditions your data lost due to the hardware failure. It might be possible that the data is available on your drive, but you are unable to access it. In such circumstances, you need for data recovery services. In data recovery service, experienced professional will repair the physically damaged hard drive.

They have special data recovery labs called Clean Room to repair your hard drive. They will replace the hard drive controller and connect your drive with healthy system. If it is working properly and data is accessible then it’s ok otherwise they will recover your lost data with the help of data recovery software.

Stellar Information Systems Ltd. is a leading data recovery service provider company. The company provides excellent data recovery service with their experienced engineers in Class-100 Clean Rooms.

Five Reasons of Data Loss and Recovery

Today computers are used much more thoroughly then a decade back. We are almost trying to expel paper from our lives. Majority of work is being done by computers, and these are more prone to failure. These failures invariably lead to data loss.

There are numerous contributing factors of data loss. The five main reasons are as follows: -

1. The first and one of the most common reasons of data loss is hardware failure. When powering on your computer you might abruptly hear clicking, buzzing, scrapping and ratting sounds. These are the noises that come when the motor, electronic boards or magnetic platters get damaged due to any electric failure or a head crash. Alternately, the drive might also refuse to spin and results in inaccessible data.

2. Another reason of data loss may be Firmware Corruption. Firmware is the software program that controls the operations and activities of hard drive like configuration, space management and safe power on/off. If firmware corruption occurs then system doesn’t detect the hard drive.

In occurrence of such event, you system will be prevented from accessing data from hard drive.
3. You might power on your system and find that files, folders and drive partitions are missing. This is the logical error. These may evident as erroneous, incomplete or nil data in files.
Such problems are the effect of malicious work of people who develop viruses that damage data. This makes the program operate in a wrong way. The computer compiles and interprets but makes an incorrect execution.

4. Accidental deletion and overwriting is also a common reason of data loss that more often happens. This event occurs when you overwrite some existing data or emptied the recycle bin. This is the data loss event of human error category.

5. Data loss may also occur due to Operating System failure. Operating system is system software that manages the hardware and enables its communication with software.
The operating system corruption may results in cross linked files, lost clusters, file system corruption or invalid file directories. In this situation, strange error messages get generated or many files may get corrupted.

These are the five common reasons of data loss. You should be aware of these things to avoid your valuable data from loss. If you have experienced data loss due to any of the reason, you need for data recovery to recover your valuable data. There are two options of data recovery you have- one is software method and second is hardware.

If your data is lost due to the software problem like logical error, operating system corruption or accidental deletion, then you should use data recovery software to recover and restore your data.

In case when your data is lost due to the hardware problem such as firmware corruption or hardware failure, then you should take help of data recovery services for recovering your data. Many companies provide this facility with its experienced professional data recovery engineers and data recovery labs.

Hard Drive Failure Factors and Recovery

Hard Drive is a non-volatile storage device used for permanent data storage. It stores electronic data on the magnetic surface that is layered onto the platters of hard drive. It is most popular and reliable storage media because it can store more data than other popular storage media.
The major internal factors that can be instrumental in drive failure and data loss are spindle motor stop, head crash, power cycling and heat.

Spindle Motor Stop: - Hard drive has a spindle on which the disk platters spin at a continuous RPM. It spins along and between the platters on a common arm are read-write heads. When the motor stop, the head can’t move and can’t read the data written on the disk platters. It results in inaccessible data.

Head Crash: - The most common hard drive failure factor is Head Crash. The internal read write head of a drive touches a platter often crushing the magnetic surface. Head float just micrometers from the platters plane which makes such collision a common one.

Power Cycling: - Power cycling of the hard drive may result in drive failure. It may cause and short circuit in the drive. It can be completely eliminated by using an UPS.

Heat: - The ambient temperature of the computer and hard drive may cause drive failure. The temperature may increase due to stop of the internal fan and high environmental temperature.

Have you ever faced any of the above problems? If yes, then you need for Hard Drive Data Recovery. You can recover all you lost data due to any of the above reasons.

Hard Disk Data Recovery: - Hard disk recovery is the method of recovering and restoring the inaccessible data from the damaged hard drive. It is used when the data can not be accessed by normal accessing methods.
Several techniques are used for retrieving lost data from the damaged drive and these are different according to the type of file deletion. Two broad categories are: -

1. Hardware solutions: - it can be done by replacing the damaged part of the drive like motor and head. Sometimes, platters have to be removed from the disk and placed in other drive for accessing these data.
These solutions can be used by the normal user, because it needs clean rooms and proper hardware expertise.
2. Software solutions: - it can be done by attaching the drive to other CPU and installing the data recovery software on healthy and running drive. Here, user can scan the lost files or data and can restore them.
This is the best solutions of logically damaged drive. Or if the drive is physically damaged, then also you can recover the stored data by using hard drive data recovery software.

In this way, you can recover all your lost data, no matter what is the reason of data loss. In these failure cases of drive, you can recover data using software, but the physical repairing of the drive is possible only in the clean labs

When is Data Recovery Necessary

Data is the lifeblood of an organization or business. There is no business without data and without business no money. Without money you have no way to clothe, feed and shelter yourself. So won’t you think that making sure you hang on to your data is the important part of business?

Is your data safe? Many companies are losing millions due to data loss. Data loss may occur due to a wide range of circumstances, and you require being ready to fix the problem, whatever the reason. Following are some common reasons that may cause data loss: -

* File deletion
* Accident disk format
* Disk corruption
* Virus attack
* Hardware failure

When any of these happens, it may be very shocking for you. In such situations, you need to use data recovery procedures, no matter what hardware configuration or operating system you are using.

Hard Drive Data Recovery

Hard Drive data loss: - Hard drive the most reliable, popular and widespread storage media today. All of the professional organizations and home users use this media for storing their data. Data loss is the unexpected loss of information and it’s usually accidental. Data loss from hard drives may occur due to several reasons.

Sometimes data loss occurs because of power failure that will result in data being unsaved to the drive and lost. Data is also lost due to the disk failure like a crash in the hard drive. System software failure may also cause data loss. Hard drive may also be corrupted by viruses or some other malicious act.

Regardless of the reasons of hard drive data loss, it is comforting that disk recovery is possible.

Hard Drive Data Recovery: - Hard Drive Data Recovery is simply the method of retrieving the inaccessible or deleted files from the crashed or failed storage media. There are two common ways of hard drive data recovery.

1. Hardware Data Recovery: - If data loss occurred because of the hardware failure in your system and your drive is crashed. In such conditions, data recovery services are required in order to repair your hard drive. Before choosing any service, make sure that the service provider has clean room facility or not.
2. Software data recovery: - Software data recovery method is used when your data loss occurred due to hard drive corruption or system failure. By using this method, you can perform data recovery very easily and effectively. You can recovery your data up to 100%.
There is a wide range of data recovery software available in the market. You can purchase these software, if you want to attempt data recovery yourself.

To perform data recovery tasks. Follow these recovery steps: -

* Install data recovery software on the unaffected partition of hard drive. If the complete hard drive is affected then install it on external healthy hard drive.
* Scan the logical affected files.
* It will display the list of these files in tree structure.
* You can select required file from this tree and save these files to the disk. Never save these files on the affected partition of the drive. It may overwrite the data and cause permanent data loss.

In this way, you can recovery you complete hard drive using any appropriate hard drive data recovery software. Software data recovery is the best solution for recovering your logically damaged data.

Data loss and growing importance of data recovery services in today’s world

Although the two words “Data loss” and “Data Recovery,” used in the title, may look like they’re meant for technology experts and IT personnel only, nothing could be far from truth this time. Things have changed in the digital world and it has affected every person’s life in some way. Though big technological problems and troubleshooting are best left to domain experts and professionals, it’s still mandatory for all business people and individuals to have a certain level of technological know-how. Is this statement exaggerated? Not at all. Who’s not possessing or using a computer, a digital camera, iPod, and a laptop these days, or using at least a CD, VCD, floppy disc or pen drive to store their personal or work-related data? The answer is that very few if not none. It’s not possible that they can escape advent of computers for daily use in their offices or private enterprises. Computers, and now laptops and iPods, are fast catching up in all areas where data is being stored or used in someway or other. Who does not use and depend on Excel worksheets, Word documents and Access databases to make a bulleted list, or a pie chart, or a PowerPoint presentation? The answer is that there are very few in the corporate world that don’t. And is there anyone sitting there in an office and doesn’t have a desktop computer or a laptop to dig their face into the whole day? Even a mobile salesman doesn’t forget to carry a laptop along with him even if he is on the prowl. Efficiency made use of computer systems, in various forms, a must for every 9-to-5 soul –true for reverse order too –and competition is what fuelling it from all sides.

If computers have become so much ubiquitous these days, a natural corollary extends from it that the moment wheels of this machinery gets stalled, perhaps whole business is going to fall apart. Data loss from important files will mean that a company may lose money, business, credibility and reputation too in the market. Worst kinds of scenarios are that when highly confidential and crucial data for decision-making purposes get deleted accidentally or automatically as a consequence of hardware or software malfunction. All hell breaks loose then on the person who is at the receiving end of the consequences in these situations. Employees responsible for deletion will shudder at the prospect of getting fired if exposed. Business will have to summon an emergency meeting with their IT staff. Though these reactions can well be expected in a couple of situations even today, the fact is that most of the people shouldn’t be found to be so clueless about what to do and how to resolve the issue at hand. I mean, there are very few today who don’t have any idea about recovery software. The awareness is much wider today than it was in earlier days when a data loss event aroused turmoil within the place. If data loss cases have increased so much that it’s now a commonality, so has importance and awareness of data recovery techniques and products to everyone’s relief. If you happen to have lost data from Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access or any other media, then you’re not far from recovering it all either. In digital market, several data recovery software are available to resolve your problems; however, you need to ensure the capabilities of the product before using one. It must not, in any case, cause any harm to your data. Stellar Phoenix Windows Data Recovery Software is such a data recovery product which is non-destructive and all-encompassing as it not only does no harm to data but recovers corrupted, damaged and deleted data from all MS Office applications all the same.

Use of Data recovery services on rise with increasing cases of data-loss

Data recovery in the past would have been less known to business and individuals alike. Even today, though people are much more aware than before –owing to increasing data-loss events –of recovery process, there are not just many services providers available to cater to the surging demand in the market for recovery of lost data. It cannot be overstated that, in today’s world, data recovery services should now become a integral part of the IT infrastructure planning in all organizations and for all individuals, using and relying on computers for their day to day business activities. Data saved in hard drives is all too important and a loss means loss of money, reputation, and loss of business. Hard drive crash has been found to be a common cause of data loss. Similarly, applications malfunctions, improper handling, virus infection and like are all capable of producing serious data loss from any file or folder.

There are several explanations to the fact that data loss situations are shooting up, and so is need for data recovery services in turn. Computerization of all modern-day corporate offices; professionals depending increasingly on data storage on digital media; individuals preferring to use computer systems and internet for all their personal and work-related chores –all have made sure to make computers ubiquitous and an indispensable item. As a result of the rising number of computers and its uses, risk of data loss has also increased many-folds. All digital systems are liable to corrupt and may fail to perform under some circumstances. So, it’s no use complaining about a hard-disk crash or software failure. What one needs to do is take the right approach to reduce the damage and make a recovery as soon as can be done safely and effectively.

Before you go ahead to avail services of a data recovery services provider, check out their credibility and experience in the field. As data recovery is a niche area and there are only a few players in the market, it’s advised that you choose a good one having a strong foothold in this arena. Stellar Information Systems is a data recovery service company, with an approved track record, that has been contributing to the industry for a long time now and offers various data recovery products like Stellar Phoenix Windows Recovery software to recover corrupted and deleted data from any Office application.

Smart steps to successful recovery of deleted and corrupted data

Increasing dependence on computers for storing and processing data has also resulted in exposing important data to threats from inside and outside the organization. Though things like natural disasters and data thefts are not very common and at the same time are simply beyond prediction and control, security measures can definitely be employed for checking data loss occurring through other means. Here we’ve listed various causes of data loss which can at best be prevented to a large extent if not eliminated completely.

Causes:

§ Hardware malfunctions including hard drive crash and failure. If you hear your computer making scraping or scratching sound, that means your hard drive is having a hard time and may eventually fail to work. Other hardware corruption types include corrupted chip, corrupted magnetic head, corrupted disc, scratched disc, motor failure etc.

§ Software malfunctions that are responsible for data loss include software corruption, application malfunctions, virus or Trojan infection etc.

§ Reasons other than software and hardware corruption could be power disruption, human error in operations, accidental deletion of data, sudden shutdown, not heeding help or error messages displayed in case any thing goes out of place.

If your computer starts behaving abnormally and you see any of following symptoms, this means you’re in for some or all data loss. Be on your alert as soon as you experience any of these discrepancies and do not save anything to or work on your system any more. This may abet the problem further and lead to permanent damage.

Symptoms:

  • Computers making strange grinding sounds
  • System hanging repeatedly
  • Slowdown of system and applications
  • Error messages and alerts generated by computer
  • Data missing or lost from some or all files
  • Files not opening or closing
  • Application shuts down automatically

Though proper backup seems to be the only way out from this crisis, data recovery software is what you can count on irrespective of whether you have a backup or not. Data recovery software like Stellar Windows Data Recovery Software recovers deleted, corrupted and damaged data from entire suite of MS Office applications, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint, after repairing the corrupted files and folders. Total recovery is possible if you’ve made sure to take adequate measures.

Data Loss a major threat to businesses as only 57% have back-up, finds Symantec

This finding by Symantec doesn’t date back to 70’s as the shocking truth might make you believe but it’s been very much established from a recent survey of big and small corporate. Importance of data in today’s world cannot be overemphasized. Most organizations irrespective of their size and nature of business today heavily depend upon data stored in hard drives for critical decision-making and to communicate within and without the organization. A visit to any modern-style corporate office is sure to give you an out-of-the-world spectacle of a number of computers, connected through unending array of cables, spread all across the premises. And what’s more the people hidden behind these computers shouldn’t necessarily be geeks breaking their heads over coding for some complex programming language. Now everybody in the organization has to have a computer to start and end their day with. It serves two important purposes: first, all the day’s work of an employee or employer is stored to avoid any loss; second, all the data is made available at a single source to facilitate faster communication and coordination. However, this very medium of keeping data safe can turn out to be the main culprit in loss of your data—if the hard drive crash or any other physical or logical problem corrupts or worse erases some or all of data automatically, leaving you raging in agony.

Although a proper and well-planned strategy could bring down the number of such instances of data loss, corruption or failure of computer systems cannot be completely ruled out—some situations are simply inevitable. The only consolation lies in a total back-up of everything. But with only 57% businesses having a backup as revealed, it seems a greater number of people are just counting on luck. Another effective method to save your data from loss is to have data recovery software that will recover you lost data if that most-feared failure does succeed in catching you unguarded—but this shouldn’t necessarily get the better of you. Data recovery software like Stellar Phoenix Windows Recovery Software is a handy tool that will help you get out of this ordeal and recover lost, corrupted and deleted data in all the cases of a hard disk failure, application failure and such other hazards causing data loss of any type. Data recovery through data recovery software is easy and doesn’t require any technical effort on your part. Just make sure it’s reliable, tested and non-destructive so as to have a complete recovery of all data.

Recover deleted, distorted or corrupted Photos and audio-visuals from your Digital Camera

A picture is worth a thousand words, an old saying goes; and for some they mean much more than just that. They may mean a lifetime of memories and for people in investigation and business they are the foundation which a case or project leans on. I remember having read a short story in the best-selling book “Chicken Soup for your Soul” about how one of the two sisters reunited after 20 years of a bitter separation dies just after they have spent a few days together at Disney World and elsewhere. The sister who survives has nothing that could remind her of her deceased sister except a picture featuring both of them together at Disney World. Similar memories, if not as emotional as this one, are associated with every picture we have with our family members, friends, and like. What if all of a sudden, memory card in your digital camera crashes and loses all photos. This does happen as is evident from dozens of queries posted on internet forums about how someone lost their pics this way and are looking for recovery.

When the memory card is corrupted, you might receive error messages like:

  • “Media is not formatted. Would you like to0 format now”
  • "Invalid SOI marker"
  • "caution, erasing all"
  • "No pictures"; and many more.

I know this may sound horrible to you; however you needn’t despair of a recovery as it’s possible through data recovery software. But before choosing reliable recovery software, make sure you don’t take further pictures with it and keep your memory card in a safe place. You may not be able to open images or images may get corrupted, deleted, distorted or formatted. Stellar Phoenix Digital Media Recovery is photo recovery software which repairs and recovers your most cherished pictures in all these instances of image loss. Software asks you to just click a few times to be able to deliver you all images intact.

Data security is high priority, but only few companies have a recovery strategy

Going by the statistics published in various reports, a data loss crisis today is anything but rare. More and more organizations are experiencing loss of critical data at some point of time forcing others to take notice. This escalation in data loss can be understood from the fact that number of users and systems too are increasing in a company. Then there are other considerations such as internet and data access given to supply chain partners. As a result of this expansion and economic growth, data is being increasingly exposed to serious threats both from inside and outside the organization. People have now become more wary of a data loss; however, a proper recovery strategy is still far from being taken as seriously. In a recent survey 70% of companies marked data security as top priority but sadly only 22% said they have an organized recovery system to take care of any data loss.

You could lose your important data due to a lot of reasons, mainly a hard-disk crash, a virus attack, improper use or shutdown of a computer besides others. There are causes which can be avoided and there are others which can be at best minimized. However, reasons which are beyond human control need to be taken into account and problems arising can only be resolved through effective measures to recover deleted or corrupted data. So if you are one of those business people who are constantly bothering themselves with the fear of data loss or have already gone through one, then we’d advise you to deploy a proper recovery system before the matter gets out of hand. Always have data recovery software for recovering any data lost, deleted by chance or intent, corrupted or damaged during use to prevent a permanent loss. Use caution, stop any further work on your computer and run recovery software like Stellar Phoenix Windows Data Recovery Software a file and partition recovery utility to get all your lost data back. We highly recommend this software as not only does it repair damaged and corrupted files and folders for all windows applications but recovers deleted data too in almost all instances.
